They are a very lazy way of providing backstory when the game designers can't come up with anything else.

It is just lore for lores sake, that often has no bearing whatsoever on game play that it is quickly forgotten the next time you have to open yet another such tome.

Endless cutscenes are likewise annoying, especially when repeated such as the mission and raid dialog scenes in Star Wars TOR.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1389986049507804094.post-48681239046448421792013-08-28T11:24:32.096-05:002013-08-28T11:24:32.096-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Treyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04647628467658839351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1389986049507804094.post-25015701183820815682013-08-28T11:22:58.789-05:002013-08-28T11:22:58.789-05:00Good stuff. It's a more "standard" d&d world (though I hesitate to use that term) but it has it's on feel and layers of evolving richness to it, that isn't encountered all at once but is revealed slowly.

It's really well-done, and I for one would love to see a setting book one day.Treyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04647628467658839351noreply@blogger.com
